Original from Deir al-Bahri, Thebes, Upper Egypt. Dated to the New Kingdom,
Dynasty 18, ca. 1479–1458 B.C. (joint reign of Hatshepsut and Thutmose III).
Nekhbet is depicted as a vulture, often hovering over an image of the pharaoh and clutching a shen symbol (representing eternal encircling protection) in her talons.

Made by french sculptor Armand Fernandez in 1995, using 78 surplus military vehicles and artillery pieces following the Lebanese Civil War, with a total weight of over 5000 metrics tons, and a height of 30 meters or as much as a 10-story building.

Often, when I’m under a time crunch, or I’m trying to achieve effects I don’t know how to complete with watercolor, I treat the painting portion as my “flats” step and do the majority of my rendering in PS.
